Card-Trak™ for Vending Machines

Hardware
The Card-Trak™ unit contains an all-weather magstripe reader, microprocessor, lithium power module, IR Communications module and a multipurpose connector cable. These units are designed for continuous operations over a period of three (3) years. The Card-Trak™ unit is totally self-contained and may be fastened to any flat surface by two bolts. The Card-Trak™ unit is supplied with a gasket to provide moisture protection at the mounting.

Software
The Card-Trak™ System uses Bellatrix proprietary software to accumulate credit card transactions in the reader units. All transactions are encrypted and exceed current industry standards.

• Data is read from the customer’s credit card magnetic stripe by the Card-Trak™ unit. The credit card data is stored using an industry standard AES 128 bit-encryption.
• The encrypted data is recovered using proprietary infrared (IR) communication protocols to a PDA unit. Only this device will be able to retrieve the data from the Card-Trak unit. No decryption is possible or occurs at this point.
• Encrypted data is transferred to a PC maintained by the vendor where the software automatically stores the data for transmission.
• Data is transmitted to the Merchant Consolidator via a secure internet link (HTTPS).
• The Consolidator transmits the data to a Merchant Services Processor.
• The Merchant Services Processor then forwards the data to the appropriate Card Association (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover).
• The Associations verify the transactions, and then send funds through the Merchant Services Processor to the Merchant Consolidator.
• Funds are held in the Merchant Consolidator’s account for the vendor, who then transfers them to their deposit account via ACH. This process requires an individual to log into the Consolidator’s web site and initiate the transfer of funds.
