Student Card Reader

The Student Card Reader is a development of the Bellatrix Card-Trak System ™ technology that is used to read credit cards.  Instead of performing a billing function, the Card Reader acts as an electronic key to unlock an IMPACT Newspaper Vending machine or other suitably configured type of newsrack.

Typically, a newspaper will make arrangements for the papers to be available for University or College students free of charge through a sponsorship program.

The Student Card reader recognizes the student ID number when the card is inserted and will release the paper door lock allowing the person to take a newspaper.  The Card Reader does not add or subtract money from the Student ID card.

Since each University or College will have a different type of student ID card, each reader will need to be calibrated according to planned use.
